Change to the NACE-BEL code for tanning salons and wellness centres from 1 March 2017
Until 28 February 2017, the activities of tanning salons were included in the Crossroad Bank for Enterprises (BCE/KBO) under the codes 96040 and 9604001. These codes also covered services related to well-being and physical comfort that are provided in thalassotherapy centres, spas, Turkish baths, saunas, steam baths, massage parlours, and so on.
These codes ceased to exist on 1 March 2017 and were replaced by two new NACE-BEL codes:
- 9604002 for tanning salons;
- 9604003 for services related to well-being and physical comfort that are provided in thalassotherapy centres, spas, Turkish baths, saunas, steam baths, massage parlours, and so on.
As such, these codes will have to be used for all new registrations of these activities in the BCE/KBO.
Companies that were already carrying out these activities before 1 March 2017 and were listed under the code 9604001 must ask the management service of the BCE/KBO to add these new codes using a specific form available on the FPS Economy’s website: http://economie.fgov.be/fr/modules/publications/bce/formulaires_centres_de_bronzage.jsp
Tanning salon operators can make this request to the BCE/KBO free of charge until 30 April 2017. From 1 May 2017, it will be mandatory to request modifications to the NACE-BEL code via a business counter.
Wellness centres (services related to well-being and physical comfort that are provided in thalassotherapy centres, spas, Turkish baths, saunas, steam baths, massage parlours, and so on) can ask the management service of the BCE/KBO to add this new code free of charge at any time.
